Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning “wheel.” The human body has 256 locations where energy is focused out of which seven are major locations. These locations are called chakras because they are very similar to a wheel. These locations are where we as humans receive and transmit our life energies.
Each chakra represents different energies, such as physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Each chakra has its own separate function, yet all work together as a whole to make a body that can flourish. Understanding chakras is important, and understanding how to keep the chakras balanced and allow these energy centers in our bodies to flow unhindered will help bring harmony to our lives. They are the pathways to our emotional, mental and spiritual health, but they can get blocked. If they become blocked, disease can be the result.
It is important to be mindful of chakra cleansing and balancing. This is not something you want to do when you are already feeling unbalanced. While we are moving around, our energy is able to move more freely along with our blood, which carries oxygen and nutrients throughout our body.
